However, it's usually the case that these are plays which haven't, to my knowledge, been repeated on digital radio and where better-quality off-air recordings haven't shown up on the internet. This is one such example. Though it's a 'straight' drama, something of a childhood memoir of a kind that will be familiar to many listeners, it's also a rather dark story. Set in the Netherlands, it culminates in the terrible events of the 1953 North Sea Flood - which, by total coincidence, I have just discovered took place on the night of January 31st/February 1st (the same date that I'm posting it on the channel). Dealing with the forces of destruction - and also human evil of a petty and all-too-real kind - I think this drama qualifies for inclusion on this channel... Also of note, this radio play is actually a 'remake' of a Dutch drama.
