This seminar is part of a series on core domains of SSNC strengthening, featuring illustrious professors from different countries. The series is hosted by WHO's Implementation Research to Scale-up and Evaluate the Impact of Antenatal Corticosteroids on Preterm Newborn Outcomes (ACS-IR). Speaker Bio: Dr. Adejumoke Idowu Ayede is an Associate Professor and renowned Paediatrician/Neonatologist at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, and University College Hospital, Ibadan. She leads these institutions' perinatal health research and the newborn and child survival research consortium. Dr. Ayede's research focuses on maternal, newborn, and child survival, including preterm birth, neonatal infections, and nutrition. She has secured multiple prestigious research grants, including those from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation/WHO. With over 110 publications, Dr. Ayede is globally recognized for her contributions to paediatrics and neonatology. She also is a consultant to several international health initiatives and holds key roles in various national and international health organizations. Notably, she was awarded Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and recognized as one of the global ten women silent heroes fighting pneumonia.
