Does a strut bar brace actually work in a Porsche 911? What is it supposed to do and does it improve handling or not. I measured the forces in the bar while driving and discovered that the Porsche 911 is already pretty strong in this area. Probably because it is a torsion bar car and the strut towers don't actually see much load. Even during hard cornering I could not measure more than about 50 lbs of compressive or tensile forces in the bar. Hmm, why do people buy these things? My car has one because an X or diagonal brace design does improve chassis torsional rigidity, but that isn't what is advertised in a strut bar brace. What are your experiences with strut braces? Do they work, and if so how modified is your car? Here's the part 1 video that started this contentious topic - • Strut Tower Brace or Towel Bar? Engineeri... Torsional Rigidity Test Video • WOW!
