Made with Suno (4.5) One of the final two videos uploaded today, this is a reupload of an older version of Kushiel's song (one of my personal favorite angels in the Herium setting); a being among the seven angels of Punishment who has chosen to align with the Overseer's interests, whether it is likely due to keeping Arkhael confined or through other means personal to him. It was by Kushiel's hand that he bound many of the Watchers into the earth of Heled, while Shoftiel (Judge of God) designed their foundations. Here, he guards the higher section of the Overseer's tower within the Ring of Heights. It is said the angels of punishment are among the oldest of the angels of creation and reside on the edges of heaven, and strangely out of the Hierarchy, the most directly involved during these events. Kushiel (Rigid One of God) possesses a devoted vessel of incredible willpower and wields a chain said to have been from the body of the Archangels of Punishment Af/Hemah itself; which is a being said to be "made out of chains of black and red fire." It is also said it was by Kushiel's hand that he confined Lahatiel within the engine of the facility, whether she went willingly or not is uncertain. One day I may potentially make a completely re-written song of Kushiel's encounter. [Intro – Divine Sentence] (A distant choir chants in solemn rhythm, underscored by the clang of metal and thunderous wings.) “Lex Dei. Vox Ignis. Custos aeternus.” (Law of God. Voice of Fire. Eternal Warden.) (Chains tighten — then silence.) [Verse I – The Gatekeeper Descends] I stand where flame and judgment meet, My eyes unclosed, my heart discrete. No mercy in my measured hand, No mortal voice can understand. Through gilded vaults, through ash and light, I am the scale, the weight, the rite. The sword may strike, the word may fade, But I am law — and law is made. [Pre-Chorus – The Oath of the Dominion] “Sub ferro, sub flamma, sub lege Dei…” (By iron, by flame, by God’s own law…) Bound in heaven’s blinding chain, I guard the gate, through death and pain. For order bleeds, and chaos calls — I hold the key when angels fall. [Chorus – Chains of the Gate] I am the chain, I am the flame, The will of He who has no name. Through righteous fire I cleanse the stain, Through law and wrath, the world remains. Beneath the crown of searing grace, I stand unmoved in time and place. So strike your blades, defy your fate — None pass the chain. None breach the gate. [Verse II – The Mortal Vessel] This flesh once knelt, it prayed for peace, It dreamed of grace that would not cease. Now I command, I purge, I bind, A mortal shell, but not mankind. The flame within — it knows no end, It bends the will, but does not bend. Salarien watches, yet holds his breath, For I am faith’s unyielding death. [Bridge – The Law Ascendant] (Music slows — the sound of hammering metal echoes like judgment itself.) Chains aflame, they circle tight, Each link a word, each spark a rite. I burn the sin, I sear the lie, No tear shall fall — no plea shall die. (A celestial choir joins, their tone reverent yet dreadful.) “Custos Portae, ignem tene…” (Keeper of the Gate, hold the fire…) “Dominus super omnes.” (The Lord above all.) [Chorus II – The Wrath Made Flesh] I am the chain, I am the flame, The sentence carved in Heaven’s name. The storm shall kneel, the light obey, I am the dawn that burns away. Through mortal ash and angel’s cry, Through severed wings that dare defy, The law remains, inviolate — I am the gate. I am the gate. [Final Verse – The Unbroken Law] (The song softens, the choir fading into low drones, like wind through burning ruins.) The world will end, the stars will fall, Yet law endures — above it all. No heaven’s whim, no demon’s chain, Can loose the order I ordain. (Kushiel’s voice becomes a whisper — cold, absolute.) I am not wrath. I am command. Where fire walks, I make it stand. So tremble, child of mortal fate — You face not hate… You face the Gate. [Outro – The Rigid One] “Sub lege, sub flamma… aeternus custos.” (Under law, under flame… eternal warden.) (The final sound: the echo of a chain slamming shut — then silence.)
