Hello again! It's been a while. I couldn't find anyone killing the hounds without using the DLC chapters to overlevel themselves nor the well so I spent 2 hours making spreadsheets and mapping everything out. I tried to min-max as much as possible to get the most and best resources available to me. I didn't really follow or remember most of the things I wrote down in the spreadsheet so I kept playing as normal, but focusing on the few units I wanted to use this chapter and Louis. Turns out that it wasn't really necessary as I killed everything in this map with relative ease. Refining weapons is pretty strong in this game and Yunaka basically solod the toughest enemies on the map, with some help from Lapis, because I decided to have another thief along the way. I completed the 2 paralogues kind of late (around chapter 8-9-ish) and forgot to put a dog in the farm after chapter 4 so I missed out on a few extra ores for the refinement stuff. I spent the most time rerolling for Olwen ring, I think it took me 2 and a half hours to get one (I spent 4000 bond fragments per attempt). The map has so many forest tiles that the hounds can't reliably hit nor kill the covert units, except for Griss. I learned that he's the only one out of the 4 hounds that spams his engage ability nonstop. He's also a sage, so he ignores the avoid in player phase, making him even more annoying to take down. I decided to lure him into my huge group of enemies and then took him down. Marni and Mauvier got dangerously close too, but Zephia was busy trying to land 20's on Lapis. It was kinda tough to take on 3 hounds at once, but bonded shield is pretty broken. I messed up the RNG seed with amber, I couldn't do another action to reroll his high accuracy miss. Then the enemy phase hit on that turn and Mauvier killed Etie. I made some adjustments and then the AI decided to .... completely ignore free kills? Griss went for Chloe, ignoring the free kill he had on Amber. Mauvier and Marni were nice enough to not kill her. I still don't understand what happened that turn, but I did survive and that's all that matters. I tried fighting Veyle as well, but I already knew you can't deal any damage to her, but I still wanted to show it off. Then I proceeded to finish the map. Diamant got MVP, but I still don't remember what he did apart from missing a few hits on the hounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My general tips if you want to do this yourself: 1. You don't necessarily need the S rings, but Olwen is pretty nice for this, as you can reliably double enemies from 3 spaces away. 2. Use this interactive map to see the stats and general hitrates they'll have without engage weapons. It's important to not have too much avoid or Zephia will just ignore you and most likely fly towards your other units. https://fe17.triangleattack.com/maps/... 3. Thieves. You can't tank Zephia without thieves. The only alternative is freeze staff, but you won't be very accurate with it, even with staff mastery. Yunaka barely requires any investment so she's a no-brainer. You don't necessarily need a second one, but you need to make sure to not have too much avoid. 4. Forging. Daggers are one of the strongest weapon types you can refine, as they gain 2 might per level. Your thieves will usually be very speedy too, so they'll often double, meaning you're effectively getting 4 attack per level. Steel Dagger is a bit more expensive, but the 2 might and 5 crit it has over the Iron dagger is worth it. I engraved my steel dagger with Marths, giving it a little bit more avoid than I wanted, but it paid off when killing the 2 monsters and when I managed to crit Zephia. If you're using Olwen ring, forge up Thunder to lv. 2 or 3 and engrave it with Roy. 5. Emblems. You get access to 2 emblems this chapter. Ivy can summon clones via Lyn emblem, which the AI will aggro most of the time. They'll also chain attack if the Lyn user attacks (astra storm doesn't work), which adds a bit of damage. Astra storm deals no damage to the Hounds, but if next to Alear, it might deal like 5-ish damage. Lucina is way more useful in this chapter cause of her bonded shield, blocking the first hit the adjacent units take in combat. It works every single time the enemy enters combat, so they'll have to double if they want to deal any sort of damage to said unit. Alear's bonded shield has a 90% trigger rate. 6. Mages. Marni has 31 def/12 res and Mauvier has 21 def/18 res. You'll want to mage them down, as they both have low speed (7 and 13 respectively). I gave Celine the bond ring that increases fire spell damage by 20%, but it wasn't really necessary. You'll want to have around 2-3 mages for this part. 0:00 - Inventories / Bond Rings 1:01 - Ivy arrives 1:30 - Fighting Hounds 10:27 - Smartest AI 10:51 - Fighting continues 18:41 - Post-fight 19:36 - vs. Veyle 20:20 - Finishing off
