AVONDALE, Ohio (Adam Clements) - It's been a little more than a week since a man was shot and killed by a University of Cincinnati police officer during a traffic stop. That man, Samuel Dubose will be laid to rest Tuesday at the Church of the Living God on Harvey Avenue in Avondale. Tensions are high in the community, but those close to Dubose are hoping the anger can be set aside so his family can properly grieve. Sunday, July 19th, Dubose was shot and killed by University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing in Mount Auburn. Tensing pulled over Dubose after he noticed his car was missing a front license plate.. What happened between then and the time Dubose was shot and killed remains a mystery to many. The only information that's been released is the incident report- in which Officer Tensing claims he was dragged by Dubose's car, which is why he pulled out his gun and shot Dubose. Tensing was wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting, but Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters is not releasing that video yet. Pastor Ennis Tate says while many in the community are outraged and want answers, they should let the process play out before doing anything disruptive. "We definitely don't want to take matters into our own hands," Pastor Ennis Tate said. "I want my message to be clear. We are mourning the loss of a human life. And in mourning the loss we don't want any hidden agendas or personal opinions to get in the way of the justice process that needs to take place." The funeral for Samuel Dubose begins at 10:30 a.m. The burial will take place at a cemetery on Glendale-Milford Road following the service.
