Hiking Alum Cave Trail - Gatlinburg Tennessee

In this video we switch things up from the usual Jeeps and small engine projects and head out for an adventure in the Great Smoky Mountains! My wife and I hiked the Alum Cave Trail just outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee, making the trek up to Arch Rock and the famous Alum Cave Bluffs. This trail is one of the most popular hikes in the Smokies for a reason. The hike starts out along a beautiful creek, crosses several log bridges, and gradually climbs through the forest before reaching the impressive Arch Rock formation. From there the trail continues up to the massive Alum Cave Bluffs, where you get incredible views and a really unique geological feature that almost looks like a giant rock shelter carved into the mountain. Along the way I share the trail conditions, scenery, and what the hike is actually like if you’re thinking about doing it yourself. It’s definitely a different kind of video for the channel, but sometimes it’s good to step away from the garage and explore the outdoors.
