M. von Weber) For Clarinet & Piano Clarinet: Tie Bai Piano: Mijung Im Tie Bai Recital in Korea Sejong Center Chamber Hall Seoul, Korea Oct. 27, 2008 Tie Bai (Clarinetist) Regarded as one of China's finest clarinetists, winner of the First Chinese Clarinetist Competition, Mr. Tie Bai graduated from Beijing Military Art College and University of Southern California (USA). Bai has given solo recitals in major cities in China, the United States, Europe and Asia. He was invited to perform at International Clarinet Association Annual Conference in Paris (1996), Ohio (1998), Tokyo (2005), Atlanta (2006), Italy (2013) and Beijing International Music Festival, Beijing International Clarinet Festival, Shanghai International Clarinet Festival, Japan Clarinet Festival, Beijing New Year Concert (Hosted by the Chinese Government with audience of 10,000. Live on the China Central TV). He has also been featured as a soloist with California Chamber Orchestra (USA), Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra (USA), New York Chamber Orchestra (USA), Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra (Ukraine), Korea National Symphony Orchestra (N. Korea), Korean Philharmonic, Jeonju Symphony Orchestra, Daegu Chamber Orchestra (S. Korea), Sichuan State Symphony Orchestra, Chengdu Philharmonic, Jilin State Symphony Orchestra, Henan State Symphony Orchestra, Liaoning State Symphony Orchestra, Yunnan State Symphony Orchestra, Yanbian Symphony Orchestra, Chongqing Philharmonic and Taiyuan Philharmonic (China). His performance was broadcasted by KUSC Los Angeles Classic Music Station (FM91.5), KSCI-TV International (CH-18) USA, National TV, N. Korea and Central TV, China Central People's Broadcast Station and China International Broadcast Station (China). In 1998, Bai hosted “98’ Beijing International Clarinet Festival”, the very first international clarinet festival in Asia Pacific area. Players from more than 16 countries worldwide attended this festival. Bai was also the festival director in 2000 (Yanji), 2004 (Changchun), 2007 (Beijing), 2009 (Taiyuan) and 2015 (Chongqing). Bai's book "Clarinet Staccato" was published by Chinese Youth Publishing House and his solo CD record was published by China Audio & Video Publishing House. Bai has served as judge at the Beijing International Clarinet Competition and Japan Clarinet Competition. Currently, he is the professor at Bethesda University (California), Director of the China International Clarinet Festival.
