PLD Space, a Spanish aerospace business, started in a garage by two students. Today they are a flourishing company of 42 employees. In this video they share their story and talk about the technical challenges. In a highly vibrational environment like outer space, maintaining the preload of the bolts is a top priority. As the traditional wire lock couldn’t offer a viable solution, the PLD Space team started looking for another type of retention mechanism.
