Viewers who tune into the 4-hour event (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST) will be treated to presentations and panel discussions from acclaimed scientists, environmentalists, Special Operations veterans, distinguished policy makes and concerned corporate leaders focusing on the critical importance of Florida’s Coral Reef and the steps being taken to preserve it. Stretching from Martin County to the Dry Tortugas, Florida’s Coral Reef is one of the largest coral reef ecosystems in the world and the only barrier reef in the Continental United States. And while it accounts for nearly 70,000 jobs and provides almost $6 billion in revenue for state and local economies, scientists warn that unless immediate action is taken, Florida’s Coral Reef could disappear by 2040.
