Guñy Fab and his Civic EG currently hold the record for the stock Honda B20 platform, with an impressive time of 9.84 seconds @ 140 mph, achieved using a $260 generic GT35 turbo and a $100 wastegate. Although that setup already delivered excellent results, Guñy decided to push further and compare his budget-friendly configuration with a higher-quality, higher-performance option like those from Precision Turbo. For the test, he chose a PTE 6266 GEN 1 journal bearing turbo, priced at $1,100, along with a 46 mm GEN 2 wastegate from the same brand. The results were surprising: beyond an increase in peak power, the most notable improvement was the overall efficiency of the new system. The car delivered over 60 additional horsepower and 60 lb-ft of torque between 4500 and 6000 RPM, with a significantly broader and more usable powerband. This means the car can now run better and more consistently—provided the engine can handle the new power load. An interesting detail: the setup with the generic GT35 used racing ONE R Ethanol fuel, while the Precision Turbo setup ran on pump E85 from a WAWA gas station in Florida.
