Great Britain forward Robert Lachowicz will return for a 2nd season for the Flames. After more than 700 Elite League games with Nottingham Panthers through the 20/21 term, the 5 foot 10 inch, 175 pound winger joined the Flames, where he made all 68 starts last season and recorded 8 goals and 13 assists. Starting with appearances while still under 18 in 2007-2008, the 32 year old has scored 128 goals and 376 points at the UK’s top level of play. His best offensive Elite League season was 2013/2014 when he bagged 18 goals and 33 assists for a 51 point haul, while helping Panthers to the Challenge Cup title; one of 6 his side collected between 2009 and 2016. In 2012/2013 Panthers monopolised the winnings by securing the league, cup and playoffs. It was their 3rd consecutive playoff capture between 2011 and 2013, and they would go on to add another in 2016. Lachowicz also helped Panthers to the 2016/2017 Continental Cup European championship before his final trophy when they hoisted the Champions banner for the Elite series event in Spring of 2021. Prior to gaining full time Panthers status in 2010/2011, the national team stalwart spent the bulk of the 2009/2010 campaign with Premier League’s Manchester Phoenix, where he had 28 goals and 55 points in 51 starts. Lachowicz has represented his country for 12 straight years at senior level including the last 3 seasons in the Elite World championship group. In 73 games, he has 4 goals and 18 assists. In addition to senior duty, he opened his national team experience with the U18 and 20’s where he helped with a pair of silver medals, one each at 18 and 20 level, before picking up the top spot with 20’s in 2009/2010. “There are not very many domestic trained players with the experience that Rob brings to the table, both domestically and internationally, and we were thrilled when he signed with us last season and even happier that he has opted to join us again for the coming schedule,” said Paul Dixon. “Rob came in here and did exactly what we expected of him on the ice, but he was also a steady presence in the dressing room.” “He is a high quality character, and it’s a really positive step when you can return people like that to the mix.”
