Patel, 45, told a press conference in Utah that the investigation into the fatal shooting made “historic progress”, stressing that it was his decision to release photos and video of the suspect, leading to him turning himself in 33 hours after the shooting. “That’s what happens when you let cops be cops,” Patel said, a mantra that he uses for his strategy of freeing agents from back office duties to focus on combating crime.
