#BREAKING NEWS:- Tom Ford's husband Richard Buckley passes away at 72 Fashion journalist and husband to fashion designer Tom Ford, Richard Buckley passed away at 72. He died of natural causes after a prolonged illness. Richard was married to designer Tom Ford and they were together for 35 years. The designer's representative released a statement that read, "It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the death of his beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Buckley. Richard passed away peacefully at their home in Los Angeles last night with Tom and their son Jack by his side." Tom has met Richard at a fashion show in 1986. Richard was the editor of WWD back then. The duo got married in 2014. Richard is survived by his son Alexander John Buckley Ford and husband Tom Ford. Buckley was working with New York Magazine and later joined Fairchild publications in Paris. He became the editor-in-chief of Vogue Hommes in 1999. People from the fashion fraternity were in shock to hear about Richard's death. Some of them took to social media to express their grief and share their condolence message. Trey Laird, chief executive and chief creative officer of Laird+Partners wrote, " What incredibly sad news. My heart goes out to Tom Ford and young Jack as their rock that was Richard Buckley has left this Earth. I first met Richard and Tom in Italy in the early 90’s when I was a very very young and incredibly naive kid from Texas who suddenly found himself stuck at a glamorous impromptu Thanksgiving dinner at the home of the Byblos designers Keith Varty and Alan Cleaver. Tom was still a few years away from his game changing Gucci reinvention. Richard was super welcoming and kind and warm to this young Texan- and he always remained that way to me for the decades that followed every time I saw him. I was always incredibly moved and inspired by the great life long love that Richard & Tom shared. Sending much love to Tom , Jack, and all Richard’s family and friends. We have lost a true legend and a true gentleman. Nick Jonas' stylist Avo Yermagyan also shared Richard's picture with Tom and wrote, "Rest In Peace dearest Richard…so lucky to have known you…you beautiful man."
