MANILA — After two consecutive weeks of fuel price hikes, motorists can finally catch a break at the pump this Tuesday, April 8, as oil firms announce slight rollbacks in the prices of gasoline and kerosene. However, diesel prices will remain unchanged. In separate advisories, Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said that gasoline prices will go down by ₱0.10 per liter, while kerosene will drop by ₱0.50 per liter. There will be no price adjustment for diesel this week. Cleanfuel echoed the same rollback for gasoline but does not carry kerosene products. Its price adjustment will kick in a bit later at 8:01 AM, while other fuel companies will apply changes starting 6:00 AM on Tuesday. Other oil companies have yet to release their price movements as of posting. These rollbacks come after two straight weeks of price hikes that had significantly impacted fuel budgets. Just last week, fuel prices jumped: Gasoline by ₱1.40 Diesel by ₱1.20 Kerosene by ₱1.20 A week prior, the increases were: Gasoline by ₱1.10 Diesel & Kerosene by ₱0.40 As of April 1, 2025, year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of: ₱4.65/liter for gasoline ₱4.45/liter for diesel ₱0.90/liter for kerosene The Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) had earlier hinted at possible price fluctuations this week, largely influenced by international market factors. Motorists are advised to monitor updates from their preferred gas stations and plan refueling schedules accordingly.
