Today, we have 5 hearings in a case with a couple where Dad wants their son to be enrolled in Summer School for his English 11 credit because he still needs both English 11 & 12 to be able to graduate this year with everyone else in his grade, but Dad is concerned that Mom won’t be able to get him to do the required homework during his summer visitation with her. Dad wants the judge to order that the child will be returned to him immediately if she can’t keep him motivated and on track. Mom says this is ridiculous because she says their son was in summer school previously and she got him to do his schoolwork just fine. She says that just because the child doesn’t like to study doesn’t mean it’s her fault. Will the judge agree to terminate Mom’s summer parenting time if the child isn’t progressing with his schoolwork?
