In celebration of Hawaiian Arbor Day, the Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden and Community Forest are celebrating their community partners who are putting native trees back into the Kona landscape! In this video we explore: A brief history of the Hawaiʻi landscape across time The Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden and how their nursery helps perpetuate native & endemic species Pālamanui Campus and their lowland dry forest restoration project Kahaluʻu Kuahewa and their work in the Apaʻa Zone; the most intensely cultivated zone in Ancient Hawaiian agriculture Kuaiwi Farm and how farmers can successfully incorporate native and endemic species onto their farm Mahalo nui loa to everyone involved in this video!
