A Nordic model for helping ALL children flourish | Tiina Ristikari | TEDxOulu

A Nordic welfare state, such as Finland, promises every child an equal opportunity for a flourishing life regardless of her/his parents' education and financial status. This promise requires effective services that recognizes the risk factors that jeopardize the development of children and the protective factors that help create resilience in challenging family circumstances. Let’s talk about children- is a Nordic service model that builds on the factors that create family resilience through the active collaboration of all stakeholders, in making sure that all children can flourish. Tiina Ristikari works as a Director of Development at the Itla Children’s Foundation of Finland. Itla foundation promotes the wellbeing of children and families in Finland, under the auspices of the Finnish parliament. Tiina Ristikari leads the innovations stream of Itla, where she brings together the state-of-the-art research on child and family resilience and the national efforts to develop services for families.
