World's oldest man dies in New York aged 111

Alexander Imich, who was born in Poland in 1903 emigrated to the United States in the 1950s and died peacefully in his sleep at his home in New York on Sunday. He turned 111 in February and became a Guinness World Record holder in April as the "oldest living" man. In an interview last month, Mr Imich, who trained as a chemist and was an expert in the paranormal, said his favourite foods were chicken and chocolate. He credited good genes in the family for his long life. He was not the oldest living person in the world however as the oldest woman aged 116 lives in Japan. Report by Claire Lomas.
