Some highlights from a weekend away in Norfolk in July 2025. I stayed in an AirBnB in Aylsham which is about 12 miles north of Norwich. The AirBnB was called “Diggens Annexe” and was a very skilful converfsion of an outbuilding which was a garage. There was a very well-equipped kitchen and dining area on the “thin end” of the ground floor with a shower room and bedroom using the whole of the first-floor level. It had a surprising large garden with a big pond and a summer house. On Saturday 25th July I went to Blickling Hall and Fellbrigg Hall in beautiful sunny weather. There was nothing worth photographing or videoing on 26th July. On the way home on 27th July I went to two more National Trust properties. I’d never heard of either. Peckover House is a very handsome Georgian town house on the banks of the River Nene in Wisbech. It was a family-run bank which ultimately became part of Barclays. The attraction includes its garden where the one house somehow ended up with a huge garden running across the back of a number of adjoining properties. Finally, I went to a small but intriguing National Trust property - “The Priest’s House” in Easton on the Hill, near Stamford. It’s unmanned and you get the key from one a number of volunteers who live nearby. I couldn’t resist the “Dumb Organist”!
