First I cleared 10,000 ft.² of woods myself. I had a friend who owns an excavation and hauling business bring in and spread all of the material. We are hoping to be able to cut down, but due to water and the land around us, I was forced to build up. The left side had to be brought up 6 feet high. To level the land it required 47 tri axle loads of fill dirt, 15 tri axle loads of topsoil, and around 50 tri-axle loads of asphalt milling's for the huge driveway. Which sent me back $47,000. The 30 x 60 x 16' pole barn with 10' x 60' lead to along with two 12 x 14' garage doors and one 9 x 8' garage door cost me $42,500 from a small Amish company out of Lancaster PA. I had quotes ranging from the upper mid 40's to the low 70s. These guys were the cheapest, unfortunately had great reviews. For the concrete, I prepped it all and provided the stone. Which was maybe around 1000 or 2. I hired a guy to form, spread the stone, order the concrete, and finish the concrete. That was $22,500. He was one of the cheapest prices, and although it looks good in the video, he didn't do the best job. I did everything after. So everything after the concrete was myself and Freind with the excavation company. At this point I was out of pocket around $115,000. I'm an electrician by trade and my father owns a pretty large home service company. So I did all of the electrical work myself, but when you add in all of the electrical, all the grass seed & hay, sealing the bottom of the building, and finishing touches could probably add another 10 grand. It took me a year and a half to complete, and was probably around $125,000 out-of-pocket cost for me. Most people said if I would've hired everything out based on average pricing I probably would've been around 250,000 if I didn't do so much myself.
