The Court has specifically sought details on whether commercial establishments granted trade licences possess valid construction licences and occupancy certificates, raising serious questions over regulatory compliance in coastal areas. In addition, the High Court has asked the Goa government to place on record information regarding the ex-gratia compensation announced for the victims of the Birch fire tragedy.
