Ensuring food security is a challenge in parts of Senegal, particularly in the North, in the communes of Matam and Podor. There are many contributing factors to this situation, and solutions are needed that reflect the local realities. In 2015 – 2016, USAID / OFDA backed a project jointly operated by CECI and FAFD to strengthen the resilience of the local populations, particularly during the lean season, which perpetuates the circle of poverty.
