With a fast-moving, impactful system expected to reach the panhandle this weekend, we wanted to give you a more in-depth look at the wind speed and snowfall potential for Saturday afternoon. The main impact of this system will be strong winds along the front. High Wind Warnings have been issued for much of the outer coast, with Wind Advisories for multiple communities inland. This front is expected to reach the outer Gulf Coast early Saturday afternoon and push into the inner channels Saturday evening. Mariners operating along the coast and inner channels should expect southerly winds to rapidly shift to the west as the front moves over, quickly peaking at gale to strong gale force conditions before diminishing along the backside of the front. This front is also expected to bring below-freezing temperatures back to the panhandle, allowing for widespread snowfall to continue through the weekend and into early next week.
