A calm aerial journey over the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Filmed in January 2022 during one of the last permitted public visits, this video captures the scale, silence, and atmosphere of the Zone from above. It offers a quiet, immersive look at a place shaped by one of the most significant events in modern history. The footage takes you across a range of locations within the Zone — from a few ancient, long-abandoned villages to the cities of Chornobyl and Pripyat, once home to tens of thousands. You will also see the remains of the Chornobyl Ship Repair Plant, the vast and iconic Duga over-the-horizon radar system, and other traces of infrastructure now reclaimed by nature. From the ground, the Zone often feels fragmented and enclosed. But from the sky, its true scale and diversity become visible — forests, rivers, urban ruins, and industrial relics.
