Ever wondered what it's like to be Santa Claus beyond the holiday season? In this episode of The Business Ownership Podcast - Christmas Special I interviewed Santa Ed Taylor. In 2013, Santa Ed became a Brand Ambassador for Hello Santa, a video visit app. As their Brand Ambassador, he made appearances on the Today Show, QVC, Tube-A-Thon, and many other TV and internet shows and events. His appearance with Rob Dyrdek on his MTV show "Ridiculousness" in 2013 put him on the map nationally as a Santa Claus actor. Appearing with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in a trailer for Daddy's Home 2 also helped. Booking national commercials for Kohl's, Band-Aid, Reddi Wip, Overstock, and Chrysler, and an award-winning regional commercial for Meijer's cemented it; Santa Ed was a bonafide Santa actor. In the Chrysler commercial, Santa Ed played a sales manager who looked an awful lot like Santa Claus. He gets recognized for that one often. Santa Ed loves it when someone asks, "Were you the Santa in that car commercial, the one wearing a tie?" Santa Ed has had many amazing experiences since then, such as appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, the Steve Harvey Show, Nickelodeon, and much more. He has also attended many celebrity and company parties, such as those for Facebook, Pinterest, JibJab, Nickelodeon, Mattel Toys, the Lakers, the Rams, and others. Santa Ed has been featured in TV shows, commercials, and even a music video with Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. In 2015, Santa Ed started a Santa School, now called the Worldwide Santa Claus Network. The school is the only one of its kind, offering online training to more than 5,300 Santas and Mrs. Clauses worldwide.
