► Hut tour in Berchtesgaden: From Königssee to Watzmannhaus & climb to Hockeck In our video we take you on an unforgettable hut tour to the Watzmannhaus! Starting point: The beautiful Königssee. On the first day, around 9 kilometers and around 1,300 meters of altitude await us. The following day we climb another 670 meters up to Hocheck and then another 2,000 meters down into the valley. Day 1: Start: Königssee/Schönau am Königssee First section: 2 hours through the forest, the incline makes us sweat a lot, but everything is doable! Tip: Break at the Kührointalm - perfect for a little rest and refreshment (but for us we continue straight away) Falzsteig: Things get more challenging here. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required! Final section: The last 1.5 hours are really crisp. But the goal is worth it! After a total of around 5 hours of climbing, we reach the cozy Watzmannhaus at 1,930 meters. We treated ourselves to a small but nice double room and the delicious dinner in the hut tasted excellent. 🍽️🛌 Our highlight: a breathtaking sunset that you can't miss! 🌅✨ Day 2: After a quiet night in the Watzmannhaus we start the second day. Today we're taking you on the challenging climb to Hocheck! Start: Watzmannhaus at 1,930 meters Ascent: approx. 670 meters in altitude to Hocheck at 2,652 meters Time: According to DAV, the ascent takes approx. 3 hours, the descent to the Watzmannhaus takes approx. 2 hours Difficulty: A head for heights and surefootedness are a must here! It's a constant climb over a lot of rocks, but the views are worth every effort. When we arrive at Hocheck, we sit on a small bench and enjoy the incredible panoramic views of the Watzmann, Königssee, Hochkalter and the surrounding mountains before mentally preparing ourselves for the long descent. Total descent 2,000 meters in altitude: It's a tough one! We fortify ourselves again in the Watzmannhaus before we descend the entire route.
