Sonic Riders is one of the best and most enjoyable racing games I have ever played, but it comes with the burden of a very high barrier to entry. In addition, the game’s tutorial and manual do a poor job of explaining the game's mechanics, intimidating most players enough to turn them off from ever experiencing the greatness that lies within. This has resulted in many new players arriving at the conclusion that the game is simply bad, like other Sonic games that were rushed in development. I personally believe that objectively speaking, Sonic Riders is actually very good, but the difficulty in the game welcoming new players with open arms has resulted in a disconnect. One where experienced players love it and see it for what it is, and new players do not understand why it is so well-liked. As a kid, I struggled to learn how to play this game with minimal resources, but overcoming that trial was an extremely gratifying experience. I guess when you're a kid you have more free time to spend figuring things out. Even to this day, I cannot find good resources explaining how this game is played. I have created this video as a means to fill a gap within the community. I consider myself to be an expert at this game.
