At Digii100 Summit 2025, held at Le Meridien, New Delhi, on 13 December, senior leaders from India’s higher-education ecosystem came together for a deeply reflective panel discussion on “The New Student Genome: Decoding the Future Learner.” The session explored a fundamental question facing higher education institutions today: Who is the student we are truly designing our institutions for? Moderated by Shankar Vanavayar, President, Kumaraguru Institutions, the panel featured Dr. Madhu Chitkara (Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University), Dr. Prathap Haridoss (Dean – Academics, IIT Madras), Meghdut RoyChowdhury (CIO & Executive Director, Techno India Group), and Akshay Munjal (Pro-Chancellor, BML Munjal University). Together, they examined how shifts in schooling systems, emotional realities, digital-first expectations, AI-driven access to knowledge, social media-led peer learning, global exposure, post-COVID virtual learning, career-linked education, and service-quality expectations are reshaping the higher-education student. The discussion went beyond the learner alone - addressing how institutions, pedagogy, technology, governance, and campus experiences must evolve if they are to remain relevant, inclusive, and impactful. This session offers valuable insights for university leaders, educators, administrators, policymakers, and ed-tech professionals seeking to understand—and design for - the future of learning in India and beyond. 📍 Captured live at Digii100 Summit 2025 🎓 A Digii community-led, no-sales dialogue on the future of higher education
