Recording a techno song with my DAWLESS Setup (Part 1)

In this first part of the video, I walk you through the process of recording my new track, "Aggroland", from my DAWLESS setup into my DAW. Normally, I’d record a fully arranged track, but today I’m focusing on laying down the loops. I arrange them later in Logic. It’s all about syncing everything up: For this I use the Multiclock. The Multiclock-Plugin in Logic sends the clock signal to my mixer, and from there, it’s routed via Multiclock back into the Deluge to keep everything in sync. This way I can multitrack the songparts without worrying about timing-issues. After referencing my song to a really track from the artist "Ikari", the track is sounding pretty good, but there’s still one key element missing: the guitar. Before I get to that, I play the track for my friend Lennart, who’s also my special guest in this video. Lennart, known by his artist name "Ute Ungewiss", is a DJ and music producer with a lot of experience and a great ear for groovy beats. He’s also involved in organizing parties under the name Geholper & Gestolper, and we’ve performed together a few times. Here's the link to his soundcloud-page:   / ute-ungewiss   Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll be adding guitar to complete the track!
