Episode 2 of Part Of The Flock is all about creating detailed bird photography, to appreciate the magnificence of Natural Design. It's about photographing the intricate patterns, textures and colours of the avian world. To demonstrate this, the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher became the perfect subject of focus. Not only is the ODKF the most colourful Kingfisher in the world, but it also happens to be one of the smallest of its kind. At a maximum of 14cm in length, including its bill and tail, it became extremely challenging to create a detailed close-up photograph. Further more, the unforgiving monsoons of Western India and the erratic lighting conditions that came along, made the output all the more tricky to achieve. The final images are a result of 35 odd hours, spread across 7 days. Thanks to Aishwarya Sridhar for being a part of this episode. Special thanks to Accord Equips for sending me the Sony A7S III along with the 200-600mm super telephoto zoom lens. All slow motion footage was filmed in 4k 120fps. Still photographs were captured on my Canon 5D IV using the 200-400mm f4l IS USM with the inbuilt 1.4x teleconverter. Filmed in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. ► Patreon / kennethlawrence ► Music I use | Get a free 1-month trial epidemicsound.com/referral/b7j3n3/ ► Catch me on Instagram & Facebook / kennethlawrencephotography / kennethlawrencephotography ► Check out my other 'Photography On-Location' videos • Photography On Location For business / video & still photography production enquiries, please write to me at [email protected] Produced by Kenneth Lawrence #OrientalDwarfKingfisher #WesternGhats #BirdPhotography
