In October 2024, I heard from my employer at the time that I would be laid off and that my Store in Nuremberg would be closed for economic reasons. At the well known shoe company, I was working as a manager for the Stores in Nuremberg and Stuttgart. In January 2025, I immediately began taking on customer orders through social media. Since I did not receive any unemployment benefits or financial support from the German government, and a founder’s grant of €25,000 was also not approved, I had to rely on my own initiative. After I was informed about my termination, I immediately applied to a shoemaker in Schwabach. As part of my application, I posted a repair video on Instagram. Unfortunately, the application was unsuccessful because I do not have formal vocational training in this profession. Luckily, I received a large number of orders through Instagram. Despite these circumstances, in January 2025 I did not post my progress on social media platforms. The global situation affected me deeply and at the same time, sharing my joy in my work did not feel right to me. Now in January 2026, I would like to start my first YouTube videos and fulfill the wishes of many subscribers who have asked for long videos in YouTube Shorts comments.
