Support me on BOOSTY: https://boosty.to/nikzvi Sub to the channel: / @nikzvi Follow me on instagram: / nikzvi 've been trying to learn double push for quite a long time and had some problems with it. First of all I didn't understand the physics of the process. It seemed to me that the only difference of the double push is that you put your foot on the outside edge and start the move from it. But that's not it. As you know, if you've seen my video on the proper push technique any simple push should start from the outside edge. And the phisycs is quite different My channel is a global thing so it will be good to demonstrate idea globally, on the earth model. So even in a simple push the main idea of a high speed skating is to make the push to the side. It's like you're trying to rotate the earth beneath you to the side. Like this. So we put the foot here, under the center of masses and push it.. The double push is a little bit different. We also start under our center of masses and outer edge but at first we are making an additional move the one that makes our movement double. We at first rotate an earth a little bit to the other side. Make a swing. And only from that position move it to the side. In fact there are no two pushes. It is one. But it is a long one. And it goes both sides. So we have a lot more time to unload our springs out squatted legs and to transfer an energy. So ok. I understood the physics. But I didn't understand the phisiology of it. How can I move my foot to the other side if I always learned to push to the side. The more you push to the side the better is the push. I've tried to make it with a foot to create the arc in the beginning but it only ruined my stride completely. But I remember that skating is not about feet or skates it's about the whole body. And I've started to search. And one day it clicked. The one small muscle that wasn't involved before make double push work for me. This muscle. Not in the center.. to the side a little bit. The one that you use to squeeze. Like that soccer player who is trying to block free kick and at the same time keep the ability of birth giving. Skates: Powerslide Arise SL 110 mm camera: GoPro 12
