Guillermo Duarte, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon practicing at Manhattan Orthopedics which has locations in Midtown Manhattan and Astoria, Queens, in New York City. Dr. Duarte specializes in non-operative and operative management and care of the foot and ankle including sports and tendon injuries, degenerative arthritic disorders, bunions and hammertoes, hindfoot deformities, flat foot, arthroscopic surgery, and fracture care. Dr. Duarte received his bachelor s degree from Johns Hopkins University. He then completed medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and an orthopedic residency at Lenox Hill Hospital. He completed fellowship training at Union Memorial under the tutelage of Dr. Lew Schon and other world-renowned foot and ankle specialists. Dr. Duarte focuses on ensuring that patients understand their condition and collaborates with them to tailor treatment plans that take into account each patient s specific needs. He is passionate about ensuring that his patients of all ages remain functional during recovery and return to their daily activities in a safe but timely manner. Dr. Duarte is fluent in both Spanish and English, making him accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
