Using veterancy in Wargame Red Dragon can make or break a unit. In this guide I'll highlight which units to upvet (give more veterancy) and why. Here's the summary: LOGISTICS: No need INFANTRY: Useful for low-accuracy ATGMs and MANPADS. Use low-vet to get more good IFVs such as the American Bradleys. Also nice for infantry that have to go toe-to-toe with anti-infantry units. Example: up-vet Spetsnaz/Li-Jians/Delta Force for more effective units SUPPORT: - Artillery: usually no need - AA missiles: depends on base accuracy. More upvet = better accuracy but less availability. Less than 50% base accuracy = upvet - AA guns or SPAAGs: usually lower veterancy but depends on type of deck. For a 10v10 I will usually use fewer high-vet units because I can micro-manage them more - Mortars: usually no need = use low vet TANKS Depends on the role of the tank. Spam tank? = Low vet to have more of them Medium tank (80-120 points) = upvet (Super) Heavy tanks (120+ tanks) = low vet to have more. They will usually reach veterancy themselves VEHICLES - ATGM carriers: depends on accuracy. Lower than 50% base accuracy = upvet. Base accuracy is already 50% or higher then I just go for numbers - Napalm/CEV/AVRE: High upvet to have them panic less. These guys will be on the frontlines all the time and will take a lot of fire. The less they panic the more effective they will be - Fire support vehicles (FSVs): Generally upvet because you always get a good number of them anyway HELOS - Upvet to get better accuracy on ATGMs PLANES - ASF (Air Superiority Fighters): Upvet or have 2 at Veteran - Bombers: low-vet because they're basically "delivery trucks" which deliver some kind of projectile (napalm or bomb) - Multirole: depends on the plane. F18s for example are usually good enough to upvet themselves through fighting - ATGM snipers (Kahu for example) High upvet to make sure they REALLY hit their target Liked this video? Please hit Like!
