UPDATE May 3: Industrial Properties Group submitted their "final" project proposal and INCREASED the number of units to 50 units. This new proposal will now be evaluated against the General Plan and CEQA. Industrial Partners Group have submitted plans for a high density apartment complex at 1609 Grand Avenue in the Riviera. The problem is that the property is on the Riviera's evacuation route and emergency response route. A high density apartment complex at that location will create a single lane with two way traffic bottleneck on both Grand and California streets. The residents of Santa Barbara's Riviera are asking that the proposed apartment complex be limited to the R-2 zoning it is zoned for.
