When brothers Dan and Ivan decided to expand MacKinnon Brothers Brewing on the 8th-generation (and counting!) family farm their craft brewery calls home, they quickly discovered that migrating from growlers to cans made good business sense and that managing their own canning operations would give them the freedom to grow that they were seeking. Life on the farm includes an appreciation for history and a commitment to quality, including growing many of the ingredients that make their way into MacKinnon Brothers' beer selections, a favorite across the region around their Kingston, Ontario home. So when choosing the canning line to become the heart of their operation, Dan and Ivan chose the CB50C canning line from Pneumatic Scale Angelus. PSA's long history of seaming expertise in high speed beverage and a commitment to the highest seam quality in the industry were a natural fit for the brewery. The CB50C counter-pressure systems operates at speeds up to 50 CPM, with magnetic flow meters for precision filling and the lowest dissolved oxygen values in the industry. Coupled with skilled service and support, PSA's commitment to the craft beverage community affords MacKinnon Brothers the confidence they need to feel as self-sufficient in their canning operations as they do running the rest of the farm.
