Digging Treasures That Everyone Before Us Missed

Last week we kicked off our first official metal detecting hunt with the new Legend 2 detector at a property that just about everyone said was completely hunted out. Doug and I decided it would be the perfect place to put the new machine to the test. After all, if all the easy targets were already gone and the rumors were true, there shouldn’t have been anything left to find at all right? Well… that sure didn’t last long. Last week we pulled a small handful of silver coins and hundred-year-old wheat cents, several old buttons, and a fistful of relics from ground that supposedly had nothing left to give. Today we’re back to finish the last of the yard and see if these new machines can sniff out even more targets that everyone swore were long gone. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of ears, a different approach, and a new detector to bring a place back to life.
