Persian, also known as Farsi in Iran, is a major language of the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian language family. It serves as the official language of Iran and has official status in Afghanistan (as Dari) and Tajikistan (as Tajik). Persian has a rich literary history dating back over a millennium, with renowned poets such as Hafez, Rumi, and Ferdowsi contributing to its legacy. Written in the Persian script, a modified version of the Arabic script, it is spoken by over 80 million native speakers and is known for its influence on neighboring languages and cultures in Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Persian's vocabulary and grammar have remained relatively stable over centuries, allowing modern speakers to understand classic Persian literature with relative ease. The Tabari language, also known as Mazandarani, is an Iranian language of the Indo-Iranian branch within the Indo-European family, spoken primarily along the southern shores of the Caspian Sea. Native to the provinces of Mazandaran, Golestan, Gilan, Alborz, Tehran, Semnan, and Qazvin, it comprises more than a dozen dialects such as Gorgani, Galeshi, Shemirani, Taleghani, Shahmirzadi, Alamuti, Katuli, and Alikaei. While Persian is the official language, Tabari continues to be spoken by an estimated 4 to 7 million people. It retains a rich lexicon and structure distinct from standard Persian and shares historical ties with other Caspian languages. Despite modern influence, it remains a key identity marker for its speakers. This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes.
