With 6,090 episodes in its 29 seasons from 1955 to 1984, “Captain Kangaroo” aired on CBS, and became one of the longest-running children’s television series. The show starred Bob Keeshan as Captain Kangaroo and Hugh Brannum as Mr. Greenjeans.
