A major rail disaster has struck southern Spain after two high-speed trains derailed and collided near Adamuz in Córdoba province. The crash occurred on January 18, shortly after an Iryo train departed Málaga for Madrid. The derailed train crashed onto an adjacent track, triggering a deadly collision with another oncoming train. At least 21 people have been killed and several others critically injured. Emergency services rushed to the site as dramatic visuals showed passengers escaping through windows of tilted carriages. Rail services between Madrid and Andalusia have been suspended as investigators probe the cause of the crash.
