Welcome, to part one of my Stitch puppet build video. Across this video and part two (   • How to make a paper Stitch puppet | Part 2...  ), I'll show you how to make a paper Stitch puppet. Hi there, I'm Ben Stanley and I love working with paper, it's a brilliant material - flexible, strong and easily accessible to create with. This video shows the head building process, with a follow up video showing how to make the body. This video doesn't show everything in exact detail, however there should be enough info in the video for those of you who like a challenge, to give it a go, though you'll probably need to pause the video quite a lot and you might want to slow it down too in the settings! Extra notes about the build: 1. The eye mechanism: This puppet is designed to my hand size specifications, so if you have much bigger or smaller hands you may have to adjust things. How tightly you fasten the paper fasteners; how wide you make the paper fastener holes (tip - they should be wide enough so the paper fasteners can spin inside the holes with as little friction as possible) or the finger lever slots; how much you shape or bend the paper eyelid sections; how well you align the pieces and how you move your fingers, are all going to make a difference to how the mechanism works. You will most likely need to experiment, and adjust things (before you put the back of the head on) to get a smooth mechanism.
