Residents of Lusaka's George Compound have called for proactive actions to be taken with regard the indiscriminate dumping of waste in the compound as it poses a health hazard. Those talked to by ZNBC news say it is unfortunate that some residents have decided not to subscribe to community waste collectors resulting in dumping garbage in undersigned places such as roads. And area Councillors Daniel MWEWA said he is aware of the situation saying his office with other cooperating partners have embarked on a mindset change sensitization campaign to raise awareness on the dangers of indiscriminate dumping of waste.
