Hit the water in MA 10 to catch a couple coho salmon! I wanted to see if a spinning flasher with a herring cut plug worked better than a trolling flasher with a hoochie. So, I dragged both behind my downrigger for about the same time in the same water. Honestly, both have their place! I like both rigs. I got 3 takes on the herring flasher rig and 2 on the hoochie. You can go quite a bit slower with the herring rig, which may make it ideal for slower kayaks including paddle kayaks.
