There have been reports across the country where the farmers are under distress due to debts and drought. But despite the hardships, here's a case from Vijayapura where farmers have to pay huge bribes to officials to sell their crops. TV9 conducted a sting operation the manager of cooperative society was seen accepting bribe of Rs 180 per quintal of dal. the accused has been identified as Ningappa Manoor. The incident took place at Sindagi taluk's Golageri village. The society accepts about 20 quintal from each farmer. So, about 20 farmers give their produce daily which adds up to 400 quintal daily. These corrupt officials collect 72,000 rupees as bribe from 116 farmers.
