Scenic Drive through Val Gardena Gorge to Kastelruth After a long day driving over the Pordoi and Sella Pass, we planned to stay in Selva before heading to Passo Stelvio the next day. Unfortunately, the famous tourist spots in Val Gardena were very crowded and had no accommodation available on short notice. So we ended up booking a room in Kastelruth instead — and it turned into an unexpectedly beautiful drive. The lower part of Val Gardena narrows into a gorge, offering a very scenic route, followed by a gentle ascent to Kastelruth with a perfect view of the Schlern Massif.
