Flood threat returns to Uttar Pradesh; Prayagraj, Varanasi, Muzaffarnagar worst affected

The flood threat has once again returned to Uttar Pradesh, with the Ganga and Yamuna rivers rising dangerously close to the danger mark. Heavy rains over the past few days have thrown life out of gear across several districts. 17 districts are reeling under flood-like conditions, with Prayagraj, Ballia, Bahraich, Varanasi, and Muzaffarnagar among the worst affected. Officials say more than 2.45 lakh people, along with over 30,000 cattle, have been moved to safer locations. To provide shelter, the government has set up 284 relief camps across the affected areas.
