Among the many beautiful and sometimes unexpected objects on display is a sparkling dessert setting showcasing cut lead-glass "crystal" tableware filled with glass versions of sweetmeats and other sugary treats of the period. For our final Hot Glass Demo Team live stream of the summer, Flameworking Supervisor Eric Goldschmidt demonstrates how some of these foods were recreated in glass, as Assistant Curator Linnea Seidling discusses sugar and sweet treats in 1700s England and the innovative and eye-catching vessels designed to hold them. See the final pieces starting at 55:22.
