Learning effective Self Defense Techniques when you are in the clinch is a very important aspect towards Self Defense Training. In this video, I demonstrate how to use taijutsu in the clinch against a jujutsu/judo hold. . The technique that I am demonstrating from the clinch is a Taijutsu Technique called “Musha Dori” (武者捕). This is a basic and easy shoulder lock (arm lock) that historically was practiced by ninja and samurai of ancient Japan, when they found themselves in a close quarters self defense situation. . When you are training in Taijutsu, Ninpo Taijutsu or Budo Taijutsu and you are working on Musha Dori, the most important aspect of Musha Dori is the correct use of the Ashi-Sabaki (footwork) and Tai-Sabaki (body angling). Although many only focus on what the arms are doing, but if you do not have correct footwork, body angling or timing, you will not be effective with this technique. If you can master the footwork, angling, timing and technical aspect of this technique, Musha Dori is a very effective technique used for Self Defense. .
