This is a casual demonstration of San Shou (short version), a two person Tai Chi form from which one develops and perfects skills of self-defense. This is a reduced speed version of the San Shou video, the two person Tai Chi form from which one develops and perfects the skills of flow, and response. It was suggested we have a separate video with only the reduced speed for those who wanted to look more closely at what was happening. The form consists of two parts, think of them as Yang and Yin. Yang initiates, and Yin responds. Half-way through, the roles reverse and the form repeats. A form like this will easily take a year to learn and much longer to master. The growth in skills and awareness of movement make it a worthwhile investment of time.
